A different kind of dentistry

SINCE THE AGE OF three and a half, Dr. Kaiyra Salcido knew she wanted to be a dentist. Raised in Silver City, one of her earliest memories is meeting a dentist for the first time. “I remember thinking, ‘this person is here to help,’” she says, “and ever since, I’ve wanted to be a dentist.” She went on to attend Cobre High School, earned her bachelor’s degrees from the University of New Mexico, and later received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska.

For Dr. Salcido, learning never ends. She continues to pursue the latest advancements in functional, aesthetic, and wellness-focused healthcare, bringing a modern and integrative approach to her patients. Through Artistic Smiles and Airway Institute, she is redefining what a dental practice can offer—moving beyond traditional dentistry to focus on the overall health and well-being of patients at every age.

Coming home to serve the Grant County community has always been deeply important to her. Dr. Salcido is committed to providing access to progressive, often hard-to-find treatments that patients would typically need to travel for. Her goal is to bring this level of care closer to home, combining innovation, compassion, and whole-body health in one place.

In partnership with Airway Institute, she offers advanced airway-focused therapies that support breathing, sleep quality, energy, and long-term wellness, along with a growing range of functional and aesthetic services designed to support the whole person—not just their smile.
