A different kind of dentistry
SINCE THE AGE OF three and a half, Dr. Kaiyra Salcido knew she wanted to be a dentist. Raised in Silver City, one of Kaiyra’s earliest memories is meeting her dentist for the first time. “I remember thinking, ‘this man is here to help,’” she says, “and ever since, I’ve wanted to be a dentist.” She realized that dream in 2012, after she graduated from dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She has worked in public health however, Artistic Smiles and Airway Institute are her first independent practices. They specialize in the overall health of the mouth, not just the teeth. In partnership with the Airway Institute and using modern, FDA approved approaches and appliances, Dr. Salcido takes an integrative approach to tackling problems like sleep apnea, difficulty breathing, fatigue, migraines, depression, and more.
Kaiyra is a 2001 graduate of Cobre High School. She and her family returned home to offer their services to enrich the lives of the people in this beautiful community.
